DRESS PATTERNS FOR 18-INCH DOLLS BY PAST CRAFTS PATTERNS

Evoking Period Style for Dolls©
Revolutionary War Era: Informal Gowns

Fitted Black Gown, Two Petticoats, Frock, Pinner Apron and Neckerchief for 18-Inch Dolls

Evoking Period Style for Dolls patterns are an exceptional series designed for 18-inch dolls and based on actual historical garments. Versatile garments women and girls wore in the 18th century inspired the patterns for the Revolutionary War Era Informal Gowns. At this time, a woman's dress was called a gown, and the gown featured here is a fitted-back, front-opening overdress (robe gown), whose skirt is open in the front to reveal an underskirt, called a petticoat. The frock was a back-opening dress with a full skirt, which was worn by all young children, boys and girls, until they were four or five, and then by girls until about age thirteen. Also included is a pattern for a pinner apron, which girls wore over their frocks and a neckerchief, which filled in the open necklines of gowns and frocks.

Evoking Period Style for Dolls©
Revolutionary War Era: Informal Separates

Short Gown, Jacket, Petticoat and Neckerchief for 18-Inch Dolls

Evoking Period Style for Dolls patterns are an exceptional series designed for 18-inch dolls and based on actual historical garments. The patterns for the Revolutionary War Era Informal Separates were inspired by the type of clothing 18th century women wore for work or informal social situations. Included are patterns for two 1770s jacket styles—one called a short gown—two skirts, which were called petticoats, and a neckerchief.
